Clem (Drew Denny) and her ex-girlfriend Jules (Alexandra Roxo), are two people trying so hard to be friends that they’re not even sure where the boundaries in their relationship lie. It’s also a short film about Clem (Virginia Ma) and her ex-boyfriend Jules (Sam Sonenshine), who are so unwilling to let each other go that they will happily obliterate any boundary they see between them. Finally, it’s a short film about the common ground these two couples share and the differences that separate them.
Comprised of two separate films made from the same script–and a third film that cuts between the two–THE THING ABOUT US is a project that explores the various difficulties of redefining a relationship with someone you used to love.
